About me

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk), with a post-graduate qualification from the University of Hertfordshire and considerable experience of working with young people and adults across a wide range of community settings.

My main training is as a psychodynamic counsellor, and so I will work with you on being able to gain insight into how the past has shaped who you are, and on how you can now begin to shape your present and your future. However, I draw upon techniques and practices from various different models of psychotherapy, so that the approach, and the pace at which we work together, can be tailored to your individual issues and needs.

I believe that the integration of my life experience, my various trainings, and my experience as a counsellor enables me to create a secure and welcoming space where counselling can take place in confidence and with respect.

I have particular experience and interest in working with: anxiety and depression; stress; trauma; self-esteem; self-confidence; transitions, bereavement, and loss; creative blocks and procrastination; masculinity and men’s issues; and sexual orientation and identity issues.

I see individuals of all ages and at various stages in their lives, and I believe that we are never too young, or too old, to look at the choices we make, to discover new things about ourselves, to come to understand our feelings, and to bring about change, so that we can feel more fulfilled and have more control in our lives.
